Grid Internet

The issue of convergence is the issue of future development of ICT that make telecommunications technology, information and media to be biased boundary, so that between the technology and the other one can not be distinguished anymore. The convergence of technology, the Internet is a technology development is very rapid in the past decade.

History of internet development project starts from the United States Department of Defense 1969 ARPA named. The initial purpose ARPA project was built for military purposes. ARPA project called ARPANET (Advanced Research Project Agency Network) aims to connect computers in a network form so that information can be transferred from one computer to another. At that time the United States Department of Defense (U.S. Department of Defense) create a computer network system that is spread by linking computers in areas vital to overcome the problem occurs when a nuclear attack and to avoid the occurrence of centralized information, which in the event of war can be easily destroyed. The results of the project leads to a standard embryo development of new protocols now used for Internet TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol).

At first ARPANET link is only just 3 sites are the Stanford Research Institute, University of California, Santa Barbara, University of Utah, where they form a single integrated network in 1969, and in general the ARPANET was introduced in October 1972. Not long after the project is growing rapidly in all regions, and all the universities in these countries want to join, thus making it difficult to arrange the ARPANET. Thus, ARPANET split manjadi two, namely "MILNET" for military purposes and the "ARPANET" new smaller for non-military purposes such as, universities. Combined both networks eventually known as the DARPA Internet, which then reduces to the Internet.

Then, in April 2008 through the Global Grid Forum in the 'Red Button Day', a concept that emerged is the latest evolution of the Internet or Internet2 Grid. Grid concept is taken from the concept of distributed computers to connect supercomputers into
meta computer. The word is taken from the Electricity Grid Grid (grid) is an electronic device is plugged into the net (grid), will receive the same resources regardless of where the resource is derived. The characteristics of the concept of Grid Computing:
1. The system to coordinate the computing resources that are not under a centralized control.

1. The system uses standards and protocols that are open (not adrift in an implementation or a specific product). Computational grid composed of agreements on fundamental issues, needed to bring computing together in a large scale. Agreements and standards are needed in the field of authentication, authorization, resource searches, and access to resources.

1. The system was trying to achieve a sophisticated quality of service, (nontrivial quality of service) which is well above the service quality of the individual components of the grid computing.
